Tiger Woods Biography
Born on December 30th, 1975, Eldrick "Tiger" Woods is one of the great professional golfers and athletes of all time. He is currently ranked #1 in the world and, in 2006, was the highest paid athlete with a take of over $100 million in advertising deals and Tour wins.
Tiger's has the second most major championships of any male golfer and has won an astounding 64 PGA Tour events in his career so far. He's the youngest golfer to win the career Grand Slam and the quickest to win 50 events on Tour. Tiger has been named the PGA Player of the Year nine times and the Byron Nelson Award a record eight times. As if that wasn't enough, Tiger has also been named the AP Male Athlete of the Year four times.
Tiger's nickname comes from a soldier friend of his late father. It became so common to call Woods the name Tiger that when he turned 21 he had his name legally changed.
